11 Answer - B - The vcf extension is used to exchange the business cards via e-mail.

The vcf file extension is used to exchange electronic business cards that are exchanged via e-mail. To send the business card, select your record in Address Book, and choose File, Export, and Business Card.

12 Answer - D - To fix this problem, you must restart the print spooler.

To restart the spooler service, click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Manage. Expand Services and Applications, and then click Services. In the details pane, right-click the Print Spooler service, and then click Start. Clearing the entries in the print queue or deleting and recreating the print object will not help. Rebooting the printer will not be of much help.

13Answer - C - You should adjust the hardware accelerator of the video adapter to a lower setting.

The Hardware Acceleration tab allows you to specify the performance of the graphics hardware present on your PC. To turn off hardware acceleration completely or turn it down, you should Click on Start > Control Panel. In the classic view, double click on the Display icon. Select the Settings tab and click on the Advanced button. Click on the Troubleshoot tab. You can disable the hardware acceleration completely by dragging the slider to the extreme left of the scale. You can also choose to turn down the hardware acceleration by selecting an intermediate value.

14 Answer - D - Standby feature is less preferred than the hibernation feature, because the Standby mode tends to lose data during a power outage.

Standby turns off power consuming components, like the hard disks and monitor, and switches the computer to a low power state. Any contents of memory and unsaved desktop settings are lost. Hibernation saves state information by writing a hibernation file, which contains the contents of the memory and is thus the same size as the total RAM. Since Standby mode saves data on the memory that is volatile, if there is a power outage, all data will be lost.

15 Answer - B - To type an e-mail in the foreign language character set, you should ask the customer to install the Windows XP language pack for the foreign language she wants to use.

To install a foreign language pack, open the Control Panel. Double click on the Regional and Language Options icon. Choose the Advanced tab, and change the language for non-unicode programs to “the language of your choice.” Click OK to accept the changes. Reboot the computer.

16 Answer - C - By default, Outlook Express checks for mail every 30 minutes.

You can have Outlook Express automatically check for new mail at different time intervals. To do this, you should open the Tools menu. Click Options and then click the General tab. Under General Settings, put a check mark in the Check for new messages every box, and select a time interval. Click OK to save your settings.

17 Answer - B - You should use the CTRL+I shortcut to display the IE Favorites Explorer bar.

To display the Favorites Explorer bar, you can do one of the following: Choose View, Explorer Bar, Favorites, Press Ctrl+I, or Click the Favorites button on the Standard Buttons toolbar.

18 Answer - D - To be able to combine disks for maximum disk space, you should deploy spanned volumes.

A spanned volume is a formatted partition in which data is stored on more than one hard disk, yet appears as one volume. Spanned volumes are non-RAID drive architecture, and may be implemented in hardware or software. It can link to a maximum of 32 disks.

19 Answer - B - To fix this problem, you must install appropriate drivers for your printer. A problem with garbled or unreadable characters occurs when the correct version of the printer driver is not installed.

The printer may respond to your print commands even though the appropriate version of the driver is not installed. However, it prints garbled characters. To fix this problem, you must uninstall the current version of the printer drivers and install an updated/more appropriate version of drivers. Printer drivers cannot be rolled back.

20 Answer - B - You should help her configure Web sites as bookmarks using the Add to Favorites link.

Internet Explorer uses a feature called Favorites to store the names of Web sites you visit often. To add Web pages to the Favorites menu, go to the Web page that you want to add to your Favorites. On the Favorites menu in IE, click Add to Favorites. In the Add Favorite box, type a new name for the page if you want, and click OK.
